It is an art to get well from an addictive process, one that you can learn.  the mind & body seek homeostasis or balance & look to work with you.  This work becomes the source of our power in managing the addiction.  As you learn to become aware of the workings of your mind & body, you can move towards a level of high performance in all aspects of your life, be it healing, managing addictions, uncomfortable symptoms or emotions.  No matter your age or current health status, you can develop a higher level of functioning by learning & practicing these tools & techniques.

Understanding the stress connection can put you back in control.  Poorly managed stress is responsible for a large percentage of our disease states & can influence our ability to maintain a healthy mind & body.  Over-abundant stress chemicals also interfere with our ability to heal on many levels, keeping the body away from balance & the production of healing chemicals.  As we learn to quiet the mind, manage thought & emotional patterns through interactive self-hypnosis © we can change the physiological course & outcomes.

A sound nutritional program, individually designed to foster a fat-burning metabolism keeps the mind & body working at optimum levels... When we follow a nutritional plan that meets our personal needs, we not only maintain our ideal weight, but all systems function at a higher level of health.   Depending on our family & personal medical history, as well as our lean body mass, level of physical activity & stress, the amounts & types of foods we need change.  When we meet these needs, our level of energy improves, as well as our mental & physical functioning.  It is imperative when looking to manage addictions, that our nutritional plan be sound & especially designed to meet our needs.

Most addictions are related to poorly managed stress.  There also appears to be a very strong link to past family medical history, as well as personal medical history, food intake & other lifestyle behaviors in the strengthening of addictions. Understanding this concept is KEY for many people in helping themselves recover. The underlying addiction appears to be SUGAR & there is much written about this.  In my private practice I find this to be an ever occurring issue with most client/patients.  As the patient learns to manage the sugar addiction & release the compulsions connected with it, the current presenting addiction becomes more manageable.
