DAILY MOTIVATORS
Utilizing Interactive Self-Hypnosis ©
The daily motivators are mini-subconscious mind
programs & are meant to be planted....
LET ME SHOW YOU HOW...
Allow yourself to relax deeply into the moment....
Choose not to rush right now.... slow down...
Invite your body to sink deeply into the chair where you are sitting...
As if magnets were pulling you down....gently...
And now, read the motivator of your choice...
After reading the motivator, tilt your eyes up about 20 degrees...
That's where your mind screen is located... just like in the movies...
Now place "thought images" of the motivator on the mind screen...
You have now etched this little program into your own mind...
Little programs often have big, powerful outcomes...

How many times have you heard the expression, "You need to let go of that?" Most of us are familiar with needing to release or let go, but few of us actually know how to do that. The mind works rather like a computer. Sometimes the software is out of whack, & thoughts or inner programs that we did not request play on automatic pilot. Through the practice of mind discipline we are able to disassociate from the thought & emotional processes & either diminish them, or request the subconscious mind to put them in the back of the filing cabinet. It is a good idea to keep them, because in our future work we will want to glean the assets from some of these files that appear to be rather unsavory on the surface. Awareness Meditative Tools © train the mind for heightened awareness, and by utilizing the breath in a particular fashion to slow the brain waves, a release message is sent to the "inner librarian."

Journaling from the right side of the brain is a powerful tool. That which we commit to paper becomes a formed goal. The subconscious mind views this differently, once applied to paper. Make inner journaling a positive habit. Take some time, preferably in the early morning & join this activity with Awareness Meditation. Practice slowing the brain waves by utilizing the belly breath, observing your fingers riding up and down gently on your lower abdomen. Image some magnets pulling you down. As your mind wanders, simply guide it back to the fingers riding the lower abdomen. After a few minutes begin writing in your inner journal. Have a specific journal for this work. If you are focusing on things you wish to eliminate from your mind, begin to write a list of these, or focus on one for the day. You might decide to write directly to that which you choose to eliminate. The right brain loves to work in this way, and will assist you in this automatic writing exercise.

Act as though it were impossible to fail.
When working with the subconscious mind we utilize imagery or imaginology, seeing ourselves having already achieved our goals. The mind actually works backwards. Once the goal is seen "as achieved" the subconscious will bring to your attention the actual steps needed to bring the goal into current reality. You will also be motivated inwardly to progress towards the goal.
For today choose one of your goals. Close your eyes & see yourself " as if " you already had the goal in the palm of your hand. Watch your inner movie screen... And now, open your eyes and go forward towards the goal. Should any old failure programming begin to play in the VCR of your mind, simply place a big X over it & replace with your end goal picture.

Today I choose to look directly at my Fear of Failure Emotional States!
If we are to succeed, It is most important to address the emotions of failure. We cannot change something we are not willing to look at it "head-on." Most of us have many different failure emotional states, and it is important that we see them as separate emotions. Why not make a list of some of your different failure emotions. See them as children wearing tee shirts with their names embossed on the front. An example of one of my fear-based emotional kids is called "Brain-Dead." It represents my fear of not having another original idea! "Brain-Dead" has a very special way of talking to me. It is all about writer's block & an inability to think clearly EVER AGAIN! Whenever I notice "Brain-Dead" is visiting me, I simply release this emotional state with a technique called "Awareness Meditation".
Following this release, I simply program my subconscious mind with an image of completing any project at all, and especially one that is perceived as difficult.

The Power of thought is an instrument for success or failure...
In the art of Interactive Self-Hypnosis © we learn to observe the moment to moment workings of this powerful instrument. We want to be aware of who is the conductor & to check if he/she is playing for your highest good. Thoughts are mini-programs that often have very big results. The subconscious mind sees all thoughts, mini or maxi, as your intended goal & will do everything possible to make this happen for you. The subconscious mind acts like a servo-mechanism, bringing related information towards the "thought goal." This mechanism will also search the subconscious mind for like experiences & link them chemically.
Learn to read your "musical score" & direct your thoughts in the direction of your highest goals & aspirations. Then let go & observe the new sounds of your "thought symphony."

You are prosperous to the degree that you are experiencing peace, health & plenty in your work..
Many of us never stop to observe our level of prosperity & miss out on practicing the powerful emotion of "gratitude." In early Motivators you learned about how the mind programs from your active thought processes. When we begin to practice "gratitude", the subconscious mind working as a servo-mechanism, attracts more of the same. It is vital to get off of the "I want more" stress-producing treadmill. The easiest way to do this is to practice Awareness Tools that allow us to observe & let go. We begin to see the power in the letting go process, and we are then able to transmute this "hanging on energy" into peace, which in turn energizes our current goals.
It is most important to stay in a state of high level health. I utilize the image of a baseball diamond for my clients. Each day as we hit the variety of balls thrown to us, we run the bases over & over again. First base is always high level nutrition, followed by deep physiological & mental relaxation, monitoring the thought processes, picking up body messages from their little cell phones, & crossing home plate with sound goal images, thereby programming the mind for what we truly want.

Prosperous thinking gives you the power to make your dreams come true. What are your dreams?
As we learn to work with Interactive Self-Hypnosis © we can improve our level of prosperity. Like any garden, inner gardens need care as well. It is important to organize your inner garden area, making certain to cover all areas. I suggest the main garden to be your Mindbody Health Garden & then to design areas for relationships, past & present, personal care & play, work, spiritual, family as a unit, community & prosperity. Design in areas for new & current projects. The subconscious mind loves order & as you begin to care for your inner self in this way, you will not only be able to define your dreams, but you will have great assistance in achieving them. Be sure to manage your thought processes & emotional states, as they apply to each area of your garden. Keep the weeds down, be sure to apply fertilizer & spend time admiring your dreams.

A often-asked question by my clients is, "When will my work be completed?" Inner work is never completed, and it is very important to have a change of attitude about this. We often have a mind-set of immediate gratification, and as we learn to become aware of this obstruction to our progress, we can put it in the "rock garden." My job as an "Inner Coach" is to wake you up to each moment, thereby allowing you to see the wide variety of materials you have been given to work with throughout your day. Most do not think like this, but our concern is for our own growth & development. We never graduate from this school of thought.....we just keep going forward & observing as life unfolds it's lessons.
As we plant more prosperous thoughts in our gardens, we begin to reap the benefits in the moments of our day. Some benefits are bigger than others, or so they appear. In reality this may not be so. Our work is to stay in awareness, keep the weeds down, and nurture our plantings.

While most of us are aware that we do have choices, we do not work with this awareness at a high enough level. Most of us are on "automatic pilot" about 98% of the time. Our moments come and go, and we are somewhere else. It is very important to practice Awareness Meditative Tools to re-train your subconscious mind to awaken you throughout the day. You can program your subconscious mind in many ways. For instance, if you have particular thought patterns, or emotional states that historically have stepped on your toes, why not consider programming your subconscious mind to awaken you whenever these appear, and especially on "lower levels." It is much easier to manage an emotional state when it is smaller. Here it can be easily diminished, and a new program can be placed over this old negative programming.
We also want to be awake to place our new rich, unlimited programs in place. Sometimes life seems to slip through our fingers, and it is already a year later. Learn to stay aware of places to insert new words or actions. You can learn to re-program your mind to indicate these spaces in your moment to moment life.

We are what we are because of our habitual thinking...
The most important work we do is to wake up. People often wonder about hypnosis & self-hypnosis. A common question is, "Can everyone be hypnotized? Will I be deeply asleep?" I always inwardly smile when hearing that.....the job of a good hypnotist is to help people "wake-up" ! Waking up from our habitual thinking is a full-time job, but well worth the effort. I am a believer in practicalities. Just how do we learn to break these thought habits? The way is through Awareness Meditative tools to become aware of thought patterns, emotional visitors & connected body sensations. One can also program the subconscious mind to alert one to specific types of patterns. For instance, if one has a habit of thinking in the "I can't do this or that mode," it would be a good idea to request the subconscious mind to alert the individual to any moments that contain thoughts of that genre. We can also program our thought patterns to be more positive, or useful to us. The method remains the same....go to the door of the subconscious mind through Awareness Meditation where the brain waves are slower, and make your request. Use imagery for this, and try to involve as many of your senses as possible in the development of this type of imagery.

Back to basics once again. We get what we think about all day long, and not only do we get it, but we get more & more of it. It is important to learn to work with the tools of "high expectations." Listen to people around you & notice how low their expectations stand. And now listen to your own thought patterns. Work to catch momentary, often seemingly neutral thoughts & examine them under your magnifying glass. Now take that little momentary thought & place it on your inner work table. And now change it to what you would prefer to receive, stand back & observe it. Next, go into your "inner library" & find an experience, perhaps way back, when you were successful at something. Press the index finger on your dominant hand into that success image, and transfer the fingerprint to the momentary thought. While this may appear as a "game", what you have just done is to re-program, as well as empower the momentary thought. You have also changed the pre-programming of similar thoughts, especially if the momentary thought you caught was part of a negative thought pattern. As we begin to work with our "inner library" utilizing tools such as these, inner conflicts & hostilities begin to move back in the file cabinet. Try it!

The Daily Motivator I take responsibility for myself.. For many people taking responsibility is interpreted as frightening. Often when I suggest this as the very first step, I see the individual backing up "mentally." If they are standing in front of me, I will see them physically move backwards. An important part of our work is in self-observation. Take a moment now, sit quietly and think about this business of being responsible for yourself. Of course this means all your choices, and all your outcomes. If you notice even a little inkling of fear, simply be aware and breathe deeply from center. This is the way of diminishing fear-related emotions and turning them into power helpers for goal achievement. |
Accepting your responsibility in managing sugar addiction or your ideal weight means that you "have all the power to succeed." Your success is "your success". This is an ideal state and is very motivating. You are always in charge of you. You are the master of your own fate. The captain of your soul. You have the power to choose the impulses that present themselves. Today let us look at some very common impulses that present themselves while managing sugar addiction and weight issues.
Most of us tend to be quite unorganized. Time always seems to an issue, especially when it comes to caring for the self and it's very special needs. Just with your mind visit the inside of your refrigerator..... And now, your pantry. What did you find there? What have you planned for dinner tonight? How about tomorrow's breakfast and lunch? What are you having for lunch today? How much time this week did you spend thinking about your food needs? Notice if any part of you does not want to think in this way. Those are the impulsive emotions that we were talking about earlier. Get to know them and note their arrival. They are powerful and can either work for you or against you. How you discipline them will make all the difference. Getting to know all parts of yourself very well is how you will become a champion at self-management.
You are responsible for getting the food your body needs to burn fat. That includes all planning and shopping. You are responsible for providing meals for your mind and body that are enticing, delicious and nutritious. You are responsible for saying "no" to any and all foods or beverages that keep you in addiction and away from your goal. You are your inner parent, teacher and health educator.
Right now, this very moment, celebrate your power!

The Daily Motivator I practice "new beginnings..." We learn to begin again. This is an important skill for us to understand. We often ask, "Will I ever get this right?" While we have high expectations and utilize those to keep us focused and energized, we appreciate the fact that we are human beings. We show understanding, forgiveness and compassion to ourselves, and allow new beginnings whenever necessary. We learn to be honest to ourselves, as well as trustworthy. While we understand we can get off course, we do make every effort to stay disciplined. We develop our plan of recovery from sugar addiction carefully, and pay attention to detail. When managing our healthy weight, we know what the body and mind need and we make every effort to provide it. Just as if we were responsible for the care of a very trusting child, we do not cheat ourselves. If we fall out of discipline for some reason, we do not turn our backs on ourselves and then use this as some sort of excuse not to get back into our discipline. Yesterday we discussed "self-responsibility" and this is another way we get to practice that skill. |
Whenever I fall off course, I like to take some time with myself and understand what happened. This time is very well spent, because the subconscious mind will help to provide valuable answers to "what happened." When you practice interactive self-hypnosis you learn to sit with your emotional states, just as if they were children. In the state of deep relax you can converse with them. In this mental mindstate they are not threatened, and so they will open to you. This is a very valuable practice where insights into your inner workings will come forward. Along with these insights will come suggestions for self-improvement and new inner programs. In these moments of self-reflection the subconscious mind is being programmed in two different ways. Programs that were detrimental to the goal are being diminished, and those new ideas or suggestions presented by the offending emotional states are now being programmed as positive motivators.
Congratulate yourself on developing new and powerful beginnings!

I provide my body with what it needs.. Today we come to terms with the need to improve our nutritional intake. Most of us know what we need to do, but the idea of doing it is often not very popular with the child inside of us. We notice we begin to bargain with ourselves.... "Perhaps I can do this for a few weeks, or at least until I lose 20 pounds, etc." We also look for other people to agree with us. This brings strength of conviction to the inner child, who really only wants to do what he/she has been doing all along. You know the story. The other part of the equation is the problem of "immediate gratification." We jump on the scale every day anticipating a huge change. Usually we are disappointed, and then begin perking our ears hoping to hear of a different plan that will give us our ideal healthy body quickly. Most of us do know that this is a game we play with ourselves, and it is very important to recognize it for what it is, a very dangerous game. We must agree not to play it if we want to be successful in managing sugar addiction and/or losing weight permanently. We must grow up in this regard. We must become a mature adult in our self-care. |
Your eating plan will form the basis of your plan for change. Whether or not one of your goals is to lose weight, gain weight, or maintain weight, the integration of a sound, balanced eating plan will form the catalyst for all other work. This is simple logic. The mind and body need nutrition to function, and if our goal is 'exceptional functioning" or the development of excellence in self-care, it stands to reason that our eating plan must also be of a very high level. We are very fortunate that in our country we have no shortage of high energy nutritional foods, and the plain truth is that many of us are lazy, unimaginative and careless in our nutritional self-care.
The bottom line is this...if you want to excel at exceptional levels, you must take full responsibility for your eating habits, and someone else's choices have nothing to do with what you are choosing for yourself. There really is no need to be a great chef, but if you really do not know how to cook a simple meal, this might be a great time to learn this life-sustaining skill.
Celebrate your awareness of your inner child's motivations in relation to food & beverage choice!
